Mr. Van Uffelen is a California native. He was born and raised in Mentone, California -- a small, citrus-grove community that lies at the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains. As a student he attended Hope Christian School in Redlands for ten years (K-9). While there he bore the proud distinction of being a class of one until his ninth grade year. Upon graduation he went to Yucaipa High School where he joined a much larger class of 430 students. While in high school, Mr. Van Uffelen felt the call to be a high school History teacher.  Upon graduation he immediately went to California State University, San Bernardino to earn his degrees. He earned a B.A. degree in History in the Spring of 1997 and continued on in his studies for one more year to earn his Secondary Education Teaching Credential in 1998.

In the Spring of 1998 he was hired on as one of four new teachers at Covenant Christian High School. Because of the Lord's guidance in his life, he moved from his home in California to establish a home here in Michigan.

Mr. Van Uffelen teaches within the History and Religion departments.  Currently he teaches US History, Church History, Worldviews, and Global Issues.

Mr. Van Uffelen is married to Heidi (Pastoor). Together they have six children, Alex, Arianne, Lydia, Katelyn, Natalie and Joseph. Together that attend Zion Protestant Reformed Church
