The CCHS science fair is a public display of science projects that junior and senior CCHS students have developed. The event draws over five hundred parents, grandparents, supporters and friends of CCHS who crowd the school building as they examine science exhibits that make known the works of God in creation. The goal of each fair and every exhibit is to give glory to our almighty creator God and to speak of His wondrous works.
Those who attend the science fair will browse more than fifty projects that are organized and arranged by subject area and spread throughout the gym, music room, hall and even some classrooms. An informative brochure that organizes the projects and summarizes each exhibit is given to attendees for their guidance as they make their way through the fair. Each exhibit will be informative, organized, neat, and staffed by the students who are presenting the project. Beautiful backboards are at each station. These clearly explain the project, the science underlying the project and the Christian insight that most impressed the students as they did their work. Projects are further explained by interactive models, activities, or demonstrations. The public can expect to taste, touch, observe, manipulate, or attempt to answer posted questions at each exhibit.
The CCHS Science Fair is also a student competition. The projects will be evaluated and awards given for best experimental science, best presentation, best blog, best home-made equipment, most time consuming, and audience appreciation. The projects will be critically evaluated by the science faculty and select members of the public. In addition all adult attendees are given a few stickers that can be placed on the projects that they appreciated the most.
